Next Change - Anwar turns on the heat
Anwar Ibrahim's Press Conference 2.30pm 18 September, 2008.
PC Part I | PC Part II | PC Part III |
PM Abdullah Badawi, yesterday dismissed Pakatan Rakyat's Anwar Ibrahim request, in a manner most impeccable, to meet and discuss matters of paramount importance affecting the nation. Prior to this, in the last few days 3 Malaysian citizens, Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Teresa Kok MP and Tan, Sin Chiew's journalist, were dragged into detention under the draconian Internal Security Act (ISA). Another, blogger Syed Azidi Syed Aziz or "Kickdefella" has since been taken in, in similar unjustifiable manner. The journalist Tan, has since been released.
In his Press Conference recorded today, Anwar Ibrahim expressed disappointment in the most puerile manner, Abdullah treated the matter, in addition to the scare tactics evidenced by the ISA arrests.
We have a working constitution and supposedly functioning system of laws, only to be looked upon in disdain and dishonor by the country's most eminent person in dismissing the constitutional and courteous approach embarked upon by the Opposition's leader.
You might wish to consider yourself the arguments put forth in the recorded Press Conference held at 2.30 pm today, 18 September, 2008. [CLICKING twice opens the video to a bigger display.]
