"Dear Abby" | New Department in MCMC

You "sakit hati" ke? Boleh report ngan MCMC!

So said Hanief when asked after being grilled for 3 hours by the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) following a visit by some officials over his blog post of March 1, 2011, on Selangor royalty indescretions. They had wanted to arrest him without a warrant and Tian Chua spoiled the fun for those hardworking MCMC officers. They came for him under cover of darkness just before midnight yesterday.

If you're upset by any blog post, feel under the weather, or enraged by anything they write on the net, you will soon be able to write to -

"Dear Abby",
c/o Malaysian Communication and Multimedia

And don't be shy. You can pour out your heart to them! In future they might be able to issue you with an MC or Sick Leave Pass.

Sarawak | Life in these Times

You are allowed to own motorbikes in Malaysia. In Sarawak, there are many motorbikes. I have one. You should have one, too! Beats the hell out of all those dumb jams in Kuching. All those drivers, of cars, produce a lot of acids in their stomache enough to melt down the Twin Towers.

But ... don't expect our Policemen or Road Transport people to forgive you if all you want to do is protect your precious head!

Japan Tsunami | Bring home our students and help the Japanese

A woman checks a "message wall" at Natori City Hall, Miyagi Prefecture, March 14, 2011. Other, high-tech means of searching for information about loved ones, like Google's "Person Finder," have also sprung up in the days since the disaster.- [ jiji.com ]

"...No Directive To Bring Home 207 MARA-Sponsored Students In Japan - Shafie

Shafie said RM6 million was allocated to develop the facilities at 68 knowledge corridors throughout the country..."
- Bernama
But we will have "knowledge corridors throughout the country" worth RM6 millions.

There will be more than "knowledge" for those students to gain in Sendai especially if they have to stay 50 mies away from those dangerous nuclear power plants.

How could we help right away? Take a guess. How about -

- not using water enough for 207 Japanese;
- not eating food of 207 Japanese;
- not using transport of 207 Japanese;
- not using power, now rationed, 207 Japanese;
- might not be using medicines of 207 Japanese;
- not using general services of 207 Japanese, among them could be infants, babies and old Japanese.

Can't the Japanese grow old? Or have they forgotten to make babies?

The American Embassy has offered to evacuate their "family members" in Japan and leave relevant personnel behind. Others from other countries might do same.

Anyway, we have plenty of knowledge here in Sarawak and they're all corridorred.

What should we do? Don't know. Don't think. Don't do nothing. Wait ... for DIRECTIVES !!!
Innovation and Creativity ... that's our trademark ... but wait lah!

What would I do? I could help 207 Japanese right away by taking those students home. What are we going to do with those 207 Malaysians? How about having another Tsunami at home in Malaysia?

LAWS | On leaves, lips and ear lobes

Murphy's Original Law
If there are two or more ways to do something, and one of those ways can result in a catastrophe, then someone will do it.

Murphy's Law
If anything can go wrong -- it will.

Murphy's First Corollary
Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.

Murphy's Second Corollary
It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.

Quantized Revision of Murphy's Law
Everything goes wrong all at once.

Murphy's Constant
Matter will be damaged in direct proportion to its value.

The Murphy Philosophy
Smile... tomorrow will be worse.

    Conclusions
  • If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the first one to go wrong.
  • Corollary - If there is a worse time for something to go wrong, it will happen then.
  • If several things that could have gone wrong have not gone wrong, it would have been ultimately beneficial for them to have gone wrong.
  • Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
  • If anything can't go wrong, it will anyway.
  • If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which something can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop.
  • If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
  • Everything takes longer than you think.
  • You never find a lost article until you replace it.
  • If nobody uses it, there's a reason.
  • You get the most of what you need the least.
  • Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.
  • Mother nature is a bitch.

murphyslaws.net

There are laws - all kinds. Some are sung, spoken and recited, talked about but never written or legislated. Which, of course means you can't break them. You sort of unbreak them.

The Americans like their constittuion written. You bet they break it everyday.But George Bush didn't break any law when he said, "You can make the cake taller!"

The Brits like it unwritten but they pencilled evertyhing in by the margin all the same.

Still, some fools say a good law is never really written. You can add to them on leaves, lips and ear lobes but never write them.

So how? You might like to ask lawyers like Karim Hamzah and JV Fong.

What about the Bible? The Qur'an? Aren't they written. Sure. They were written in fire but now printed from Sarawak Trees.
