Paul de Octopus says, "Blow me down! I don't believe it!"

MELBOURNE, March 4 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who was today conferred with a Doctor of Letters of Law Honoris Causa by Australia’s renowned academic institution Monash University, said education would continue to be the most important area of co-operation between Malaysia and Australia.

“The early interactions between Malaysian students and their Australian counterparts have contributed to the strong people-to-people relations, leading to close bilateral relations between two countries,” he said in his acceptance speech when receiving the special honour at the university here.

Najib, who received the conferment on the last day of his three-day official visit to Australia, pointed out that education had always been and would remain an important aspect in the development of human capital in order for a nation to move forward.

“While we strive to improve our education system, we will continue to depend on foreign universities to send our students for knowledge and learning and Australia will remain one of the top destinations,” he said.

Najib said through education, it would create model citizenry.

“The inculcation of the values and virtues of moderation — understanding, tolerance, acceptance — will surely help create future generations who choose constructive dialogue in all spheres of activity,” he said.

Najib in his speech also touched on “1 Malaysia : People First, Performance Now” concept which was about Malaysians living together in harmony, about how its people with different cultural and religious backgrounds could find a common ground to build upon.

“It is about inculcating the best values to create a modern progressive society. The fundamental principle is moderation which has not only ensured unity, but also allowed political stability, sustainability and economic activity in Malaysia,” he said. — Bernama

Politicians | Najib joins those with damaged heads

In August 2008 2007, UM (our venerable University that our kids go to) bummed with Tony Blair for a law lecture on the Azlan Shah Law lecture series, University Malaya. A lot of bumming there.

Blair of course is the twin of the B-Bunch of the Bush bull. If that is not bad enough, would it be surprising if another venerable institution, the LSE (London School of Economic) also bummed with the Gadaffis and giving Saif Gadaffi, a Phd? That cost Libya £1.5 million which was no small amount as any economist would vouch for.

This bit of news of Dr Saif Gadaffi had hit the headlines about 10 or so days ago, in the midst of the explosive vibration of news hitting the internet on Facebook and Twitter on the shakedown for democracy in the Middle East. Wouldn't that give you some jitters? It might.

Some outstanding and noble Malaysians are not rattled by that and PM Najib had said - we are different from the Middle East. So, confident with that knowledge and with the most complete abundance of caution he made plans to go downunder to Australia where he will, with all dignity and pomp, receive his Phd from Monash University, Australia.

I need a doctor, too. My mollar needs fixing. Yeah, sure, I need more biting power. Don't you?

They say our government dentists leave pieces of tooth behind after they romped on you. Had Najib spent more money on Malaysian health, instead of some rotten Ozzie gray matter, we'd have more bite!

Meanwhile, it seems the LSE is stuffed with spies. Look at the UK's Daily Mail Online splash on it. Pix below paints 1,000 words.

So who's the spy skunk in University Malaya?

Libya and Najib Razak | Dumb & dumber

Malaysia - Najib says PAS government only built 2 mosques in all this time.

In a posting on his popular Facebook page, Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said by tying the number of mosques to a government's Islamicity, Najib had only exposed his deep ignorance about Islam.

Najib, speaking at a school in Kuala Krau, was reported by right wing Malay daily Utusan Malaysia as questioning PAS's Islamic credentials because the latter had only constructed two mosques in the whole of Kelantan in the two decades it has been in power. - [ Harakahdaily.net ]

Libya - Gaddafi's sons tried to get Islamic cleric help to issue fatwas against Libyan revolt.

Sons of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi have failed to persuade prominent Saudi clerics to issue religious rulings against a revolt that is threatening to bring down the veteran leader, Al Arabiya television said on Monday.

The Saudi-owned channel said on its website that Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam had contacted one cleric, Salman al-Awda, and Saadi Gaddafi had reached out to a second, Ayedh al-Garni, but both rejected their calls.

"You are killing the Libyan people. Turn to God because you are wronging them. Protect Libyan blood, you are killing old people and children. Fear God," Garni said he told Saadi. -[ Reuters Africa ]

These donkey kongs should be "stoned to death". Don't we know where the devils are?

That said, doesn't Tok Nik Aziz stone the Devil every time he goes for Umrah? Or for that matter everyday of his life?

Some day this Devil Stoning ritual act in Mina, Saudi Arabia will need to change. Isn't the lesson in the thought and act? Rather than at some meaningless dead concrete Saudi contractors put up at heavenly prices?

Poor Muslims spent their lives saving to pay for that piece of mute stone, while many more remain in abject poverty.

There's money from divine gift in Saudi, Libyan and Malaysian soil to pay for all.

Don't Libyans, Saudis and Malaysians boil?

Being Malay | Nik Aziz didn't ask to be one. Did Mahathir have a choice?

Some killer rhetoric from Tok Guru Nik Aziz, (no less) asking for a change in the debate. Who is "nyanyuk"?

I didn’t ask to be born Malay

February 27, 2011

Nik Aziz was responding to Dr Mahathir’s assertion that the PAS spiritual leader should be grateful for being born Malay.

KOTA BHARU, 27 Feb — PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said today that he did not ask to be born Malay.
The Kelantan Mentri Besar added that it was only by coincidence that he was born in this country.

Nik Aziz said that it did not matter what community he was born into as long as he was a Muslim.

He was responding to a statement by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad that he should be grateful for being born Malay because this meant that he would be Muslim.

Nik Aziz said that all races were the same, and what made a person special was that he was a Muslim.

He said that he was striving for Islam as a religion of moderation and was opposed to extremism which contradicted Islam. — The Malaysian Insider/Bernama
