A civilly disobedient thought

Cheating is not necessarily a bad idea. But in many respects, you are anti-social if you cheat on the Gomen. There are sick kids needing attention at the Gomen Clinics which need taxes to finance the necessary. That "public goods" must be maintained. If a 6-ton lorry crushed your car and you get a green light to heaven, the Hospital might be able to switch it off.

So you want to do right by the Gomen. You are not anti-Gomen. It doesn't matter, if you didn't vote them in or that they rigged the elections, you still need a Gomen.

Supposing, just supposing, the taxes you pay go to somewhere else, instead of creating and supplying public goods, what then? You are not cheating. Someone in the Gomen is then cheating. But you still need a Gomen.

So what to do? You cannot go strike. That's uncivilised. You cannot cheat the Gomen, that's uncivilised, too. But there are people cheating the Gomen. Maybe, we should redefine what cheating is.

If you cheat yourself by accepting damages and losses, that's a lot of cheating. But can you call that cheating? Not on yourself, you can't!

So, it's all right! On yourself it's not cheating. So what's that got to do with Gomen?

Apparently, the Gomen and all it's people are only cheating themselves. We are not the Gomen. Well, now can we call that cheating us?

Maybe we should become our own Gomen!

We can then cheat ourselves by paying taxes and making sure all the public goods are adequately provided for and no kid who's got only a broken arm needs to die. But what about the "other Gomen"? Who cares?! They can cheat themselves to Hell!

So, if we have our own Government, we can do a whole lot of cheating and that would be just fine!
