Abolish ISA - petition didn't get to Agong. It went past and worldwide!

Pix by Malaysiakini

As at 6.00 pm today, 1 August, 438 people were arrested. In the mêlée, Hatta Ramlee of PAS was beaten up by the Police, PKR Sivarasa was detained at the FRU Center where he was denied the medication his wife had brought to him. A PerakExpress.com support person was chased by Police dogs and chemical water-canon trucks.

The pressure is on and more intense for BN government to act and work towards abolishing the repressive law.

The crackdown was most unnecessary! It was meant to be a citizens peaceful walk of concerned Malaysians irrespective of race, color, creed and political affliation but police on instructions from their political masters - UMNO, came in full combat-gear together with their water cannons laced with chemical, tear-gas. Roadblocks were set up more than a day ahead thus inconveniencing the public and would-be participants of the peaceful Anti-ISA Walk. LRT stations too were locked out. There was no reason for the police to act the way they did. Beatings and brutal force were applied on 'suspects' many in rather serious condition, a gross violation of the fundamental right of Malaysians to demonstrate peacefully!

I was informed LRT station at Masjid Jamek was closed and the innocent people/shoppers waiting there for the green light to board it had the police running up to roughen them up and dragged off into police trucks. Tear gas was seen firing at them. Police took it as the people were regrouping there! That was barbaric!

The Prime Minister and his cousin Home Minister Krishamuddin must be held responsible for what has happened!

This protest did illustrate to others that behind the facade and veneer of flashy ads of purported Malaysian success, the people in BN government and their wealthy supporters are crude tyrants and really living in their tempurong blissful in the strength of their perversion.

The only way we can ever try repair the damage is to take back the Government from them!

Their excuse for 'arrest' was so lame but in the first place it's our rights to freedom of speech and expression done in peaceful manner. The police said those hauled up arrested had t-shirts and Anti-ISA flyers in their bags. They are MORONS of the highest order! Is is against the law to have black t-shirt in one's bag? Is it unlawful to have Anti-ISA flyers too? Don't they know that NGOs and Social activists, even political supporters are always everywhere even at the Malls distributing flyers? I'd always take from them and after reading tuck them into my bag, so does it make me a participant in the Anti-ISA Walk too?

"...Magaran legal adviser Mohd Khairul Azam Abdul Aziz said the four should be arrested under the ISA for practicing 'premeditated violence' when organising the rally.

Why is the police afraid?

"Why is the police afraid to (arrest them)? The police's duty is to protect civilians like us. We want to do our business, like sell jambu, burger and drive our taxis.

"The police has to take care of us, not give face to Anwar and his cohorts in GMI. Arrest them!" he thundered at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur this evening.

See how this lawyer plies his trade! That's crazy, ain't it!? The money we spent to maintain an education system to produce this jerk!!!

Hishamuddin actually went to UK to study law, with our compliments, too!

It is morons such as this that stymie Malaysia's progress. Look at us today and how far ahead Spore is.

Apparently, the moron has dumped his "krissy" toy and moved up to the next ladder of tyranny - the Home Ministry which is supposed to hold the lease of your life, if you end up in the "Lokap" !

Here's a thought for you, Anonymouse! Were you given the task of weaning this baby, away from his obsession, what the heck would you do?

Hawkeyejack of hawkeyejack.blogspot.com reckons there were more than 100,000 Abolish ISA participants. His suggestion seems more reasonable than the 20k or so estimated by MSM and even Malaysiakini.

The Malay Mail now reckons that small trades' losses should be an issue that might have to be legally addressed. There'll be a lot of wrangle on this and perhaps enough wool over Malaysians' eyes over the real problem of fundamental rights and how to live in a brave new world.

Art Harun unravels some of the issues in near frustration at Mukhrit Mahathir whose related reaction might insult very many new Malaysian Malays.

Hawkeyejack may be right. Remember those participants were stopped when the red helmets with tear-gas and water-cannon moved in to break them up? This was aided by PDRM helicopters hovering above to give a more perspective view from above.

Whatever, it was a success and the people's voices were heard and message went across so it's time they change or be changed!
