100 day Pakatan reforms | Will there be a debate?

UMNO Chief Khairy Jamaluddin has accepted a challenge from Anwar Ibrahim to debate the national economy arising out of Pakatan's 100 day reforms and its financing, on behalf of his UMNO boss, PM Najib. Anwar Ibrahim had stated that with reallocation of resources the reforms would only cost RM19.2 billions compared to the RM52 billions of precious assets siphoned off from national funds and given away in different forms to party cronies. He then called on PM Najib for a debate.

Claiming that his boss PM Najib was way beyond Anwar's level on the subject of the national economy, Khairy is raring to go at Anwar.

Will Anwar take the bait or will he send his second from Pakatan? It won't be a surprise if Anwar snooks Khairy, were it to happen at all, as Khairy is only a second.

It would be refreshing to see a debate again. The last time, Anwar was challenged, the BN opponent, Shabery Cheek walked away in tatters. Who knows? Anwar may not get it this time as the last time he stewarded the national economy it was during the 1998 Asian finance crash. Khairy was too young to save Anwar then. Will Khairy save him now?
