CAT CITY | Between a "y" and an "i"

Cuddly felinity, at Kuching City Center.

You have to forgive me. In the previous post, I didn't mean "sphinx". I had meant "sphynx"!

Sphynx(es) are known to have "energy, intelligence, curiosity, and affection". Yeah, they're very spunky. If you need a pet, go find a sphynx. Their felinity makes cats adorable. Long ago, someone smuggled Persian cats in Kuching and wanted to sell me one kitty cheap. Can't quite recall if it was Iranian! No, I didn't. Like 'sphynxes', they need lots of care. Like your computer, they need deworming, too! But they must be worth it. Years ago, I used to stay up late correcting essays in both Melayu and English. At times, deep in the still of the night, my "kucing", nothing spooky, would join me amongst the heaps of excercise books, purr a little and then doze off while keeping me company.

The other, "sphinx", is a different kettle of fish. It's spooky! Eons of Greek and Egyptian mythologies kept mired in mysteries that abound in the sandy vast deserts, slopes and mountains of the Middle East surround the Sphinx. There are still secrets in the sands and they could be read if you have the head for hieroglyphics. I am just contented to learn a little JavaScript to glean into the problems of screwed up web pages. The Egyptian Sphinx guard the Pyramids which some believe are gateways to Heaven. Some crazy scientists might think they could learn extra-terrestial secrets about teleporting: you know, zapping you up and sending you to another universe. That's intriguing, beckoning, maybe tantalyzing to some. There are just too many questions and too little time to answer them.

In Kuching, Sarawak, otherwise hyped by tourist operators as Cat City, we will soon have some questions answered. When will the State Elections be? What will happen? Who will keep the torch for Change burning? And what will that change be?

In between the "why" and the "eye" wouldn't you like to have the freedom to think, believe, decide and do what is just?
