Kuching Waterfront - Vigil by PKR Sarawak

Ng and Police face off at Kuching Waterfront

In clear support with their national PR counterparts against the constitutional limbo in Perak, PKR Sarawak staged a peaceful vigil at the Kuching Waterfront yesterday evening, May 7.

For the peaceful gathering, 10 PKR members were arrested but later released.

linasoo.com carries more details and the subsequent release from Police detention.

The Borneo Post print edition May 8, reported "armoured police trucks" rolled out to the Kuching Waterfront -

Dressed entirely in black, Ng, who is also Kuching PKR chairman, led the group which included his wife and two other women to an open space at the Kuching Waterfront next to Main Bazaar where they proceeded to light candles. They were, however, met by a huge contingent of police officers led by district police chief ACP Wong Wai Loong and his deputy Supt Abang Ahmad Abang Julai along with a Light Strike Force unit which arrived in armoured police trucks.

Police immediately advised the group to disperse as they did not have a police permit for the gathering, which was deemed illegal, but theadvice went unheeded and police were forced to move in to prevent the situation from getting out of hand. When contacted following the incident, Ng said that initially the police only wanted to arrest him but the other members insisted that they too be similarly detained as a show of solidarity.

He also questioned the rationale of having such a large number of police officers at the scene.

Salute you Sarawakians!

Thank you for standing up for Perakians in the blackest day of our Perak history, something that is so lacking not even from the royalties.

Thank you!

I'm sure Sarawakians place an importance on whatever is happening anywhere in Malaysia.

Many might remember this -

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manner of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.
- John Donne

Yep, no man is an island, even the dolphins say so! To all you Sarawakians out there, Perak says 'TERIMA KASIH".

Here's Ricky Nelson with his 60s song, "I need you"!

After having been the "mastermind" behind the Perak political fiasco, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak has now tried to calm angry Perakians with what the mainstream media calls it "olive branch", is it? But he was quick to clarify it will not be a coalition government and whoever gave Najib the idea that even if a coalition is offered, Pakatan Rakyat will snap it up? Decision will remain with their supporters and electorates whom I am sure will have nothing of that. UMNO/BN have insulted Perak electorates; their acts of thuggery on 7th May 2009at the Perak State Assembly - dragged off Perak State Speaker Sivakumar with the help of plainclothes Special Branch/Army personnel was unforgiveable!

However, looks like the ball is in the Sultan's court. This may be the last opportunity for the Sultan and his son the Raja Nazrin to prove to Perakians and all concerned citizens that they do have the people's interests at heart and also a way out of this mess which should not have happened had the Sultan not taken sides and true to his birthday speech "Rulers are above politics" but it has now severely damaged the standing of their household and future generation in the eyes of Malaysians and public opinion of the world at large.

There's an old Malay saying which is good reminder, "Raja adil Raja disembah. Raja zalim Raja disanggah"!

["...“What the BN did was to approach and inform the Sultan that *we had the majority in the House. Similarly having all the information before him and after studying the present circumstances, the Sultan can dissolve the House if he believes that it is in the best interest of the people of Perak. Our point is that it is not for Datuk Seri Najib or BN to talk about dissolving the assembly. *This is solely up to the Sultan. ..." Malaysian Insider ..."]

They're still playing games and wasting national resources. UNFIT TO RULE!!! The DUN Perak did not and has not determined those officially and constitutionally!

In the KT Elections, Police spent RM6.0 mil on canopies alone, before other other mobilization and personnel deployment. The just concluded Bukit Selembau, Gantang and Batang Ai, saw further massive display of Police intimation with all their hardware.

The recent Police dragnet on Ipoh May 7 was no less, if not twice more!

National wastes of all resources, in addition to the disruption on the rakyat's economic life!
